Before you write a word, watch this

A quick walkthrough on why your story — not a pitch — is what actually grows your business.

THE SHAPE OF YOUR STORY

Every story that connects follows this arc

Your before, your turning point, your after, your invitation. This guide walks you through all four.

STEP 1

Where You Were (Your Before)

  • What was life like before you started?

  • What were you struggling with most?

  • What were you searching for?

  • How were you feeling about your situation?

The more specific your "before" is, the more people will relate. Don't worry about sounding perfect — raw and honest wins every time.

STEP 2

The Turning Point (Your Decision)

  • What made you decide to say yes?

  • What were you feeling in that moment?

  • What almost stopped you from starting?

  • What or who gave you the push you needed?

Be honest about your doubts. If you almost said no, say that. The person reading this almost said no too — and they need to know that's okay.

STEP 3

Where You Are Now (Your After)

  • What has changed in your life since you started?

  • How do you FEEL differently now?

  • What can you do now that you couldn't before?

  • What surprised you most about this journey?

Your "after" doesn't need to be a massive income result. Confidence, freedom, community, purpose — these are powerful results too.

STEP 4

Your Invitation (Not a Pitch)

  • Who do you most want to reach with your story?

  • What do you want them to feel after hearing it?

  • Write your invitation in one or two sentences.

A great invitation sounds like: "If any part of my story resonates with you, I'd love to connect." Simple. No pressure. Just an open door.

STEP 5

Put it all together. Write your complete story using everything you've uncovered in steps 1–4. Don't overthink it — just write. You can polish it later. The first draft just needs to be honest.

ONCE IT'S WRITTEN

Where to share your story

  • Your product customer Facebook group

  • Your personal Facebook or Instagram page

  • A Facebook or Instagram Live

  • Your email list

  • Your business builder Facebook group

  • A YouTube video or Short

  • In a one-on-one conversation

Your story doesn't need to be big. It needs to be true.

Nobody else has your story. Nobody. Stop hiding it — someone out there needs to hear it today.
